Aston University is a public research university situated in the city centre of Birmingham, and at the heart of a vibrant city, less than 2 hours from London and only 30 minutes from Birmingham International Airport. Aston is a long-established research-led university known for its world-class teaching quality, and strong links to business and the professions.

 

  • CITY: Birmingham as a city houses one of the friendliest, most diverse, and multicultural campus communities in the UK. There are lots of companies whose head offices are in this city making a hot spot for career and employment. The city offers the chance for students to experience life in an exciting, diverse city with world-class restaurants, entertainment, and shops. It is also hugely multicultural and quite diverse in race and provides the perfect home. There are lots of student jobs in this city in retail, healthcare, hospitality, customer service, cleaning, and warehouse. These roles are student friendly, accommodating the 20hr per week work limit.
  • TUITION: The average tuition for postgraduate international students is £18,000 with discounts available. This figure though changes depending on course of study and year of entry. Most specialised courses usually have a slightly higher tuition fee than most.
  • STANDARD OF LIVING: In comparison, average cost of living in Birmingham is much lower than cost of living in London and its environs. The figure given here is an estimate and might be lower or higher depending on what part of the city you decide to live in and its proximity to the city centre. The average cost of a single room in this city is £450 per calendar month while the average cost of a 2-bedroom house or flat is £700 (this in turn is also dependant on whether it is furnished or unfurnished). With the current world change and rise in Inflation most areas have experienced an increase in price. For example, cost of housing, feeding and most basic amenities like electricity and gas prices have gone up.

    The minimum requirement is that an applicant must have the West African Senior Secondary Certificate of Education (WASSCE) and has complete a recognised foundation programme.
