Applying from Ghana

The tuition fee depends on the University. On average, the tuition falls between £12,000 and £22,000. But we would use £13,000 as that is the most popular. You are expected to pay 50% which is £6500. Some institutions would request £4,000 or £5,000. Note, these same institutions would expect you to make up the deposit to 50% when you arrive and before you can enrol.

Step 3

Towards the resumption period and based on the advice from our counsellors, you are expected to have the following amount in your account.

If your school is based OUTSIDE London: £9,207 (which is your upkeep) and the balance of your tuition fee deposit.
So, if your tuition fee is £13,000 and you pay (50%) £6,500, then it means in your account you need to have: £9,207 + £6,500= £15,707
Remember; £9207 is your upkeep & £6500 is your balance tuition fee

So, if you want to know how much in Ghanaian Cedi, we advise you to multiply by 21 Ghc.
This means funds in my account: £15,707 X 21 Ghc= 329,847 Ghc* (It’s better to keep a little bit more) *Note: The UK Embassy uses www.oanda.com for its conversion.

If your school is based INSIDE London: £12,006 (which is your upkeep) and your tuition fee deposit balance.
So, if your tuition fee is £13,000 and you pay (50%) £6,500, then it means in your account you need to have: £12,006 + £6,500= £18,506
Remember; £12,006 is your upkeep & £6,500 is your balance tuition fee

To know how much in Ghana cedi, you should multiply by 21 Ghc.
This means funds in my account: £18,506 X 21Ghc= 388,626 Ghc* *(It’s better to keep a little bit more)

Step 4

On average, I usually advise clients to Budget 185,000 Ghc, which I believe should cover them for the process. Note that the 185,000 Ghc is not the entire fee. This is the estimated breakdown, which could be a bit less or more, depending on the exchange rate.

Tuition fee deposit: 133,009 Ghc
Tuberculous test: 1,843 Ghc
Visa fee and Health Insurance: 20,000 Ghc
Flight Ticket: 12,000 Ghc
3 Month’s accommodation (1 room) 15,200 Ghc

*Total 182,052 Ghc (Remember these are estimates, and you are expected to have your entire upkeep and balance fees in your account) *

The remaining upkeep money and tuition fee must be in your account as you travel for your use in the UK.

Step 5

We advise that students can start keeping their proof of funds at the latest three months before the resumption of your program. So, if your program starts in September, then latest 14th of June so that by one month keeping your funds, you can submit your bank statement to your school, if they require you to see it.

United States

Step 1

You must agree with our counsellor on the school we can apply to. Then, you will need to send your documents to us using this link: UPLOAD

Students can also send the required documents through our email: support@jokingseducare.com

You will need to state the course of interest on the email while sending the documents through our email.
Once we receive the documents, we will apply and obtain an offer for you. Please note that application fees may apply for US schools. Once an application is made, the University will access it, decide, and issue an acceptance letter.

Step 2

The tuition fee depends on the University. On average, the tuition falls between $13,000 and $50,000, depending on the school. But we would use $13,000 as that is the most popular. You are expected to pay 50%, which is $6500. Some institutions request NO tuition fee deposit until your visa is out. Note that these same institutions expect you to make up the deposit to 50% once your visa is issued.

Once you get the acceptance letter, you are expected to pay your fees, and then the school will issue an I-20, which is the document you will need to apply for a visa. For schools that do not require a tuition deposit, they will INSIST you show them available funds in your account or that of your sponsor before they grant you the I-20

Note: Some schools charge a fee by the year or the semester to support their foreign student/exchange visitor office and automated systems. These fees are neither mandated nor collected by the U.S. government.

Step 3

Towards the resumption period, based on advice from our counsellors, you are expected to have the following amount in your account:

A student is expected to have a minimum of USD10,000

and above, which also must be reflected in the previous 6-9 months of bank statements.

So, if your tuition fee is USD15,000 and you pay (50%) USD7,500, then it means in your account you need to have: USD10,000 + USD7,500= USD17,500
Remember; USD10,000 is your upkeep & USD7,500 is your balance tuition fee

So, if you want to know how much in Ghana cedi we advise you use ONDA.COM to check the exchange and determine the equivalent
This means funds in my account: USD17,500 X Ghs15.6625 = Ghs 274,094* (It’s better to keep Ghs 285,000) *Note: These funds must have been there consistently 6-9 months in your account or your sponsor's account.

Step 4

On average, I usually advise clients to Budget Ghc150,000, which I believe should cover them for the process. Note that Ghc150,000 is not the entire fee. This is the estimated breakdown, which could be a bit less or more, depending on the exchange rate.

NOTE: We are working on the assumption that the tuition fee is USD15,000 and you are paying a 50% deposit, which is USD7,500

SEVIS fee (USD350): Ghs 5,482
Flight Ticket (USD606): Ghc 9,490
3 Month’s accommodation (USD500 @1 room) Ghc 7,830

Then the remaining upkeep money and tuition fee have to be in your account as you travel for your use in the destination

Step 5

List of Documents required for the F1 VISA

We advise that students start keeping their proof of funds at least 6-9 months before the resumption of their program. So, if your program starts in September, then at the latest, on January 14th, by keeping your funds for six months, you can submit your bank statement to your school if they require you to see it and then have enough time for visa application sometime around June.
